Cryptomarketing in 2020: successful application of strategies from MLM and the beauty industry

Cryptomarketing in 2020: successful application of strategies from MLM and the beauty industry
Over the past decade, the crypto-industry has proven to be a unique industry with a specific audience, which requires a no less specific approach. In this regard, in 2020, the advertising activity of crypto companies is significantly different from that to which banks and various financial companies resort. Industry leaders prefer not to rely on traditional online advertising on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. They follow a different path: they work with bloggers (opinion leaders and influencers), rely on MLM marketing referral programs and actively organize various contests and sweepstakes with generous prize pools. The CoinDesk portal claims that crypto marketing this year is strikingly reminiscent of marketing in the beauty industry, and here it is no less effective.

General concept

Michelle Fan, a blogger with a million YouTube subscribers, is using the same techniques to spread skin care life hacks and the idea of financial freedom through bitcoins. Moreover, she assures that the leaders of the crypto industry, like her, use marketing schemes from the beauty industry, even if they themselves do not know about it.
Both areas prefer to use the DTC (Direct to Customer) business scheme, independently creating and then promoting and selling goods / services, working as closely as possible with the community. Sales are built through aggregated retail platforms like Amazon, Etsy and Shopify, or even through accounts in popular social networks.
Industry leaders in developing countries often resort to the latter option, where large sites like Amazon simply don’t work or aren’t popular. For example, Michelle Haber, a bitcoin maximalist from Libya, made it clear in CoinDesk’s comment that social networks and chats are today the most effective way to distribute goods / services in crypto topics. He said that local traders in order to “educate” the audience help buy hardware wallets, selling them through groups on social networks. Buying yourself Trezor or Ledger in another way is often simply impossible.

Work with opinion leaders

Michelle Fan is not the only person from the crypto-community who notices the similarities with the beauty industry. So, Maria Paula Fernandez, who actively uses the services of the DeFi sector and is seriously interested in the topic of skin care, gave the CoinDesk portal a similar comment.
She notes that in both cases, society has become accustomed to relying on the opinion of society itself, rather than trusting the views of the world’s leading media. Therefore, in both sectors, the so-called influencers are very popular — opinion leaders and bloggers who disseminate information among their audience on YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and other social networks, receiving a reward for this.
Crypto-companies very often, like firms from the beauty industry, provide their products to opinion leaders for review and further “instruction” of their subscribers. Maria Paula Fernandez does not see anything shameful in this. Observing the experience of bloggers, subscribers begin to acquire a kind of crypto-education and disseminate the information through the word of mouth. Thus, the crypto-community grows.
The most successful bloggers over time can count on sponsorship from one or another crypto company.
For example, the podcaster Marty Bent, whose show is now funded by Unchained Capital and Square, the developer of Cash App, witnessed this scenario. The latter, by the way, in addition to Bent sponsor also podcast Joe Rogan and rapper Lil B.
Many other large companies, including the Kraken exchange, have resorted to this strategy. They are just as interested in sponsoring reputable content creators who promote products among loyal subscribers. The U.S. exchange sponsors the Reckless VR crypto start-up, founded by Udi Wertheimer for crypto-conferences in virtual reality, and the famous podcast Peter McCormack, who launched his own media brand Defiance last year. Having started his career as a hobby, McCormack turned it into a business of his life, thanks to which he earned about $1 million for 2019.
With all this, working with bloggers is a great opportunity to enter foreign markets. This is understood at Crypto.com, where they use opinion leaders to attract the Russian-speaking and Turkish-speaking community. Does this approach give a result? Judge for yourself: over the past six months, the number of startup users has doubled and currently stands at more than 2 million people.

Referral Bonuses and MLM Marketing

The development of products within the community often turns into MLM marketing strategies, which require the presence of referral bonuses and bonuses “in depth” — favorite schemes of cosmetic brands. They use a multi-level reward system for attracting partners, where you can usually get a bonus not only for personally invited, but also for “friends of friends and their friends”. Thus, opinion leaders who distribute crypto products often receive a portion of the funds that people invited by them will pay for the product / service.
The relevance and effectiveness of the trend is confirmed by the fact that these methods are not shy to use not only crypto start-ups, but also top cryptocurrency companies, widely known throughout the industry. A prime example is SatoshiLabs, a company that manufactures and distributes Trezor wallets. The head of communications, Iva Fizerova, confirmed that she is actively resorting to “affiliate marketing” with bloggers as an alternative to paying them for direct advertising.
No less vivid examples are the largest crypto exchanges Binance and Gemini, which managed to succeed not without the help of referral systems copied from the multi-level marketing campaigns Avon and Mary Kay, which they have been using for decades.
Instagram blogger Chjango Unchained has been earning good bonuses for several months running after posting a referral link to Gemini on her profile. When her subscribers register on the exchange and buy cryptocurrencies worth more than $100, she receives $10 in BTC. According to her, she is doing a good deed. The blogger wants people who are interested in her opinion on digital money to start their crypto path on Gemini, and not, for example, on Coinbase, because the latter charges “crazy commissions”.
Referral system bonuses are a typical phenomenon for many crypto companies, and successful bloggers are happy to use this. A prime example is Michael Gu, known by the pseudonym Boxmining. It has been distributing information about digital money since 2012, having gathered an audience of more than 200,000 subscribers on YouTube and more than 3,500 participants in Telegram chat during this time.
Despite the fact that the manufacturer of hardware wallets Ledger does not sponsor its activities, it places referral links in the video descriptions and collects voluntary donations from subscribers. As you might guess, he feels rather well. At the same time, he emphasized that user activity during the coronavirus pandemic is only growing, especially after YouTube began to put sticks in the wheels of the creators of crypto-content.

Gifts, contests and sweepstakes

Making a small gift is a great way to introduce an audience to a new product. In the cryptocurrency market, this has long been relevant.
Coin creators eagerly carry out airdrops and bounty campaigns, allowing the crypto community to test the new coin. A similar approach is popular in the beauty industry. Samplers of perfumes and branded magazines with smells have led many girls to buy full-fledged versions of the fragrance.
In addition to the cryptocurrency developers themselves, a similar approach is also used by cryptocompanies of a different direction, which cannot conduct airdrops due to their technical features (for example, this is true for manufacturers of hardware wallets). Therefore, they organize more classic contests and sweepstakes. For example, they play a wallet for reposting on social networks or videos published on YouTube.
It is noteworthy that cryptobrands in this area are even more active than cosmetics manufacturers. They work not only with trusted bloggers with many subscribers, but also help to become less “untwisted” users. Therefore, they periodically assist them in organizing draws in order to attract subscribers who could potentially become new customers.
Iva Fizerova from SatoshiLabs confirmed that Trezor manufacturers periodically help users attract new followers through the distribution of gifts. Moreover, this approach brings excellent results. By working with the community this way, they have managed to sell hundreds of thousands of wallets. But most importantly, a reputation of the brand has formed around the product, warmly received by the audience. And this effect is so strong that the company simply does not see the point in spending money on traditional expensive advertising.
Most importantly, despite all the problems of 2020, including the coronavirus pandemic, which seriously hit the global economy and, accordingly, people’s wallets, demand for products did not fall. This approach remains effective, while the percentage of successful conversions in traditional advertising has probably decreased. Fizerova noted that over the past three months they have recorded a steady increase in demand for goods. Moreover, they even had to solve delivery problems, if only the buyers got the desired devices in a timely manner.
A similar approach and results are observed with other manufacturers of hardware wallets. Thus, Rodolfo Novak, co-founder of Coinkite, confirmed the growth in demand for products, despite the pandemic. Working with the community is their main marketing strategy, because it really gives results. Over the past three years, they donated about 50 wallets to YouTube reviewers. Novak is proud that their “users help other users.” According to him, this approach allows you to sell products at a lower price, since the cost of goods does not include high costs for familiar marketing campaigns.

Are marketing strategies effective? More than

The cryptocurrency market relies on marketing strategies that have established themselves in the beauty industry, which in the new field are no less effective. Maximum performance is achieved with a killer combination of all three of the above methods. It’s about when the founders of cryptocompanies themselves become opinion leaders. Just look at Changpen Zhao, the head of Binance, or Justin Sun, the project manager of TRON. Both entrepreneurs are bloggers with a huge army of subscribers and are personally engaged in the promotion of their brands, regularly rewarding their audience with pleasant gifts.
It’s easy to guess why industry leaders rely mainly on this type of marketing. Advertising products in the traditional way is expensive, especially for startups, behind which there are still no attractive products with a good reputation. But more importantly, crypto products are quite complex in themselves, so they often need detailed explanations, which are difficult to implement in the framework of traditional advertising. Agree that selling a bottle of Fanta with a new taste is much easier than a hardware cryptocurrency wallet, especially since most people don’t understand what it is.
On top of that, regular advertising is complicated by the fact that media giants regularly block crypto content.
In such a situation, marketing borrowed from the beauty industry seems to be the most acceptable and most effective option. By focusing their marketing budgets on opinion leaders and working with the community, cryptocompanies achieve the desired result, even taking into account the coronavirus pandemic. The crypto community is getting bigger and stronger every day. But the best part is that this growth cannot be stopped.

Elastos (TICKER: ELA) Assessment

Author's Note:
Elastos was discussed in this group twice, albeit 7 and 9 months ago, respectively. To do the project justice my intention is to give existing and new CryptoMoonShots group followers an update as the overall market has changed considerably and to factor in project-specific developments following the two mentions of Elastos here.

Definitions:
Content Creators and/or Developers: Individuals and enterprises that generate, design, and create digital assets.
Digital Capital: An individuals videos, photos, written text, written or spoken ideas, music, time, and attention
Big Tech: Companies like Alphabet, Facebook, Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, Twitter to name a few.

Project Introduction:
The design philosophy of Elastos originated from Rong Chen, a former senior software engineer at Microsoft. Building on his experience at Microsoft, Chen wanted to create a platform in which applications and services are not allowed to access the Internet directly. Without access to the network, malware would not be able to steal user data or attack other services on the Internet. Chen’s vision was subsequently developed into an open-source, lightweight operating system for virtual machines (github.com/Elastos). In 2017, blockchain technology was integrated into Chen’s vision, enabling development of the Elastos Smart Web.

The project is focused on developing a decentralized internet platform where digital assets are owned, distributed, and monetized by Content Creators and/or Developers that own it. To understand this, it is imperative to understand the current internet model (Internet 2.0). Big tech currently owns the internet and everything in it: your videos, your photos, your written text, your ideas, your music, your time, your attention - and the most important in this context - the means of distribution - let's call this Digital Capital. In the current model, Content Creators and/or Developers are forced to distribute their capital through channels owned by Big Tech, which rob creators of their rights and profits.

Elastos is building the boundlessly scalable platform where digital capital can be published, distributed, and monetized by creators while allowing creators and developers to retain their rights. This platform will allow for decentralized applications (Dapps) to operate on a peer-to-peer network with no centralized control. Consumers can access these Dapps via their mobile phones without changing their operating system. The old Internet is a Web of information. If you click a URL, you get data. Elastos is creating a Web of apps. When you click a URL, you get code. The Elastos Web will be a special economic zone where Elastos tokens function as the base currency.

The project is open-source software whose development process has been sponsored by industry giants such as the Tsinghua Science Park, the TD-SCDMA Industrial Alliance and the Foxconn Group for more than 200 million RMB. The project has published more than ten million lines of source code, including four million lines of original source code. The Elastos blockchain utilizes merged mining with Bitcoin, the process by which consensus is reached on both chains simultaneously. In this case, the Bitcoin blockchain works as the parent blockchain to Elastos, with the Elastos chain as its auxiliary blockchain. The mining pools will deploy merged mining code and miners will submit proof of work to both blockchains at the same time. Energy consumption does not increase with merged mining, and will be equal to the energy consumed for mining either alone. Through this mechanism, the Elastos blockchain has an extremely strong guarantee of computing power and will then be able to provide blockchain innovations at a global scale. It makes full use of existing Bitcoin computing resources in addition to being environmentally friendly.

Live Products

Elastos SPV Wallet
Elastos provides an SPV Wallet SDK equipped with a series of wallet-related interfaces to enable users to develop unique wallets that connect to the Elastos blockchain. Sample applications are available now.
Elastos Blockchain Merged Mining
Elastos’ main public blockchain is merged mined with bitcoin, which enables pre-existing bitcoin miners to update their clients to simultaneously mine Elastos without expending excess energy. The merged mining is currently open only to the BTC.com mining pool.
Elastos DID Sidechain Service
Elastos provides a Decentralized ID (DID) Sidechain Service to be used in applications. On the Elastos ecosystem, every user, every device and every app has its own DID and can store any value that is associated with that ID on this sidechain. The DID service paves the way for a more secure and trustable internet, as this allows for seamless interoperability between DApps and IDs are assigned to users from the blockchain rather than having them assigned by a company.
Elastos TV Box
Although Elastos does not sell the TV Box directly, the Elastos Carrier is embedded inside. The Elastos TV Box is presently used for simple features such as remote control in a decentralized peer to peer fashion. In the future, these TV Boxes and many other IoT devices that have Elastos Carrier installed will be capable of running as IPFS nodes for supporting the distributed file storage network for the Elastos ecosystem.
Elastos Dittobox
Any individual can establish a unique dittobox server on a personal computer that integrates ownCloud server and Elastos Carrier. The dittobox server can be installed onto a computer behind the router, and all files stored on the server are accessible from anywhere in the world via the Elastos Carrier network.

Beta Products
Elastos Blockchain PoW + DPoS
Elastos main blockchain will employ a hybrid consensus of PoW + DPoS where the PoW is merged mined with bitcoin and both are used to package blocks while the DPoS nodes are used for signing. This creates a finality in the blocks which will prevent the chain from forking.
Elastos Token Sidechain Service
Elastos DApps utilize this service to generate application-specific native tokens within the Elastos ecosystem. As such, each application can create its own token on demand, and without friction.
Elastos Smart Contract Sidechain Service
Elastos provides a unique sidechain service that is designated to running and executing smart contracts. These smart contracts are compatible with ERC20 and ERC721 tokens, which enables Ethereum DApps to run smoothly within the Elastos ecosystem.
Elastos Hive
Elastos will provide a distributed storage system that apps can utilize to store files, messages in a p2p chat, videos, music, and more.
Elastos Elapay
Elapay is a payment tool that enables payment with ELA. Two types of payments will be supported. The first is “Pay On Order,” which encompasses standard commercial purchases, and will require merchants to integrate Elapay service into their web apps in order to offer users this payment option alongside the likes of credit card and cash payments. The second is “Point to Point Pay,” which involves individuals exchanging funds between themselves. “Point to Point Pay” uses an html5 page that can be shared on social media outlets such as Facebook or Wechat to send or receive ELA. Elapay can be expended for a variety of purposes – from purchasing a virtual asset in an online video game to standard online shopping expenditures. It simply represents another method of paying for goods and services at checkout.

Alpha Products
Elastos Trinity
A cross-platform browser application that runs on Android and will be available for iOS in the future. This is a form of the Elastos virtual machine and a demo of Elastos Runtime where decentralized applications written for Elastos run in a secure sandboxed environment. These are Ionic framework applications. Also, the SPV wallet functionality and the payment functions will be embedded inside the browser so that other DApps that run on Trinity can easily integrate with the available features.
Elastos Carrier SDK
Elastos Carrier provides SDK for Android (Java), iOS (Swift/Objective C), and nodeJS that can be utilized to connect to the decentralized peer to peer network that takes over all of the network traffic on the Elastos ecosystem, such as messaging, file transfer, and more.

On January 16, 2019 the Intelligent Grouping and Resource Sharing (IGRS) board issued Elastos a formal membership certificate, thus making official its entrance into the IGRS Industry Association. In conjunction with Association members, Elastos will explore the opportunities and potential synergies presented by blockchain and IoT, in the joint hopes of creating a robust IoT industry ecosystem.

Recently an ecosystem partner meetup revealed 900k TV Boxes sold and 180k registered DIDs via our partner app Viewchain. The Elephant Wallet also hit the Apple App Store and Google Play.

In June, 2018 Elastos partnered with ioeX, an internet of things platform that was much anticipated. The ioeX project is a behemoth on its own and is built on the Elastos platform.

**There are countless other exciting milestones that were achieved in 2018 and planned for 2019. Refer to https://news.elastos.org/.*\*

Market Sizing, Factors, and ELA's Potential
In the current market, Elastos' market cap of fluctuates between $31 million and $35 million with ~14,574,261 ELA coins in circulation ($2.1 to $2.3 per ELA) and total coin supply of 34,104,561.

ELA is currently listed on LBANK, CoinEgg, Huobi, HBUS, Kucoin, BCEX, and BIT-Z, the majority of which are low volume exchanges.

Binance Exchange controversy: Although various sources say different things, the evidence points to one plausible story: The Elastos foundation refused to pay Binance's listing fee and backed out of the listing the coin. Binance followed suit by tarnishing the project reputation using various media.

Based on the projects scope, the team's background and leadership, the project's backers, affiliations, and partnerships, and projects with similar mandates the project has the potential to be worth close to $500 million (15x) in the short term (less than 12 months) and several billion over the longer term (1 to 2 years).

The largest barrier to achieving it's objectives is adoption by developers. The chicken or the egg dilemma is that some argue listing ELA on major exchanges will incentivize developers to build on the platform because the coins value will appreciate others ague that the underlying technology must far outperform the incumbent to incentivize migration and hence drive the coins value. It's probably a combination of the two.

I would love to hear your thoughts and opinions on this assessment.

Thanks!

StrataMiner is ready for download. Feature-packed software package for controlling and monitoring any number of rigs.

StrataMiner is now released for beta testing. Looking for a few brave miners.
Go to strataminer.com to learn and install.
I'll be answering any questions here today. For technical support, please email me at [email protected]. Tell me what operating system you're on in the email message.
Features
Windows and Linux - Made for both. Client and Control Center don't need to be on the same OS either.
Profit Switching - Flip the switch and you'll always be mining the best currency for each device.
Any pool - StrataMiner works with any pool using a standard stratum protocol.
Web Portal - Control your rigs from anywhere on the planet with an internet connection.
24 coins and counting - AEON, Bitcoin Gold, Denarius, Ethereum, Ethereum Classic, GoByte, Groestlcoin, HUSH, Komodo, LOKI, Monacoin, Monero, MusicCoin, Pirl, Quantum Resistant Ledger, Ravencoin, Trezarcoin, Ubiq, Verge, Vertcoin, Vivo, ZCash, ZClassic, Zen. More coming.
Exchange address generation - StrataMiner can generate deposit addresses on your Cryptopia and Bittrex accounts. Once your crypto hits your exchange, you can easily exchange for 100s of others. More exchanges coming soon.
One-click updates - No installers required for updates of mining core software. Stay up-to-date through Control Center with a single click.
Community features - With pool sharing enabled, you become part of a community working to ensure pools are always available and trustworthy. This service is part of StrataMiner's commitment to decentralized mining.
Hashrate verification - StrataMiner's proprietary Adaptive Proxy technology enables auditing of pool communications to verify that hashrate reports match share submission statistics. In other words, StrataMiner makes sure everybody is being honest.
Familiar miner cores - Ethminer, Claymore Miner, CCMiner, EWBF, XMR-Stak
Automatic network configuration - The Control Center and Client know how to find each other. Turn them on and go.
Email notifications - Requires Gmail. Receive an email if something's not right. The messaging is still a little rudimentary.
Low fees - 0.5% for development. Miner cores and pools may have additional fees.
Earnings tracking - Earnings estimations are tracked over time. Earnings are recorded in both USD and crypto.
Market data - Up to date market information for each currency, including market capitalization, price, and 24-hour change.
Open source software - The Control Center is open-source and written in Python 3. See pystrata on github if you're interested in fiddling with the code.
What you get for your fee
New miners and algorithms - New stable miners will be incorporated based on community desire. Strataminer tracks algorithm changes and blockchain forks for you, so you'll always have working software, if available.
New coins - Many can be added within hours of receiving a request. No software updates required.
New features - The feature set will be improved based on community feedback. This is only the beginning.
Technical support - Development fees enable StrataMiner to respond to issues and fix bugs quickly and continuously.
StrataMiner API - New coin data, new mining software, and some market data come from the StrataMiner API.
An obvious drawback is that you'll need an address for each currency that you want to mine. If you have Cryptopia and Bittrex accounts, you can use auto-generation to make addresses for all but 4 of the supported currencies (XMR, AEON, LOKI, QRL). I'll work on integrating Binance, CoinExchange, and HitBTC next.
The Coinomi mobile wallet can also get you 16 of the 24 supported currencies.
You'll need pretty fresh drivers, partly for StrataMiner and partly for the miner cores, i.e. Ethminer, ... I actually expect to ease up on StrataMiner's driver requirements a little, but you'll still want to keep fresh drivers for the mining software updates, as they come.
On request, I've lowered the driver requirements for StrataMiner itself, but if you don't have the newest drivers, you may not be able to use Ethminer. You can still use Claymore for Ethash though. Minimum drivers are now >= 385.54 on Windows, >= 384.81 on Linux.
StrataMiner is not affiliated with or sponsored by any exchange, any pool, any other website, or any other software vendor.

Lisk Highlights weekly roundup February 9th 2019.

Hello everybody. The LISK project and it's enthusiasts are always busy, and this week past has certainly been no exception.
Seeing is believing, so here is a recap of the highlights and interesting items from the past week on the LISK subreddit and beyond.....

Lisk's 11th LIP – Some Viewpoints on the Proposal to Change to one Vote Per Account.

I am sure you are all aware by now that HQ has just opened the discussion for their 11th LIP (Lisk Improvement Proposal) dealing with the "change to one vote per account in our DPoS". A thread was started on the Lisk subreddit announcing this LIP content and it provoked a lot of intense debate.
This LIP of course is for now just a proposal by the Lisk project team, and it should create discussion around what is best for the network. HQ advise that any interested community members should join the conversation by signing up to the LIP mailing list HERE. Lightcurve science team member Iker posted "Hey guys, we are looking forward to your contributions regarding this and other proposals. We will check all the community inputs in the mailing list.
Community Lead of the Lisk project, Mat Piaggi, produced a summary of the initial discussion on the Lisk Chat channel regarding this latest LIP. It features Iker from the Lisk science team and Chief R&D Officer and Co-founder of GNY, Richard Jarritt. You can read it HERE

Lisk Sidechain Project's CEO Attends Meeting With the EU Commission.

Christian Junger, CEO of the MADANA project recently met with Dr. Florent Frederix, a Cybersecurity expert from the European Commission in Brussels. I have heard that they discussed eprivacy, and cybersecurity of course. The importance of GDPR compliant technology for a more privacy-driven business world was chief among the talking points with MADANA being touted as one of the suitable project to uphold this imperative. It is no surprise so that the MADANA project is due to be one of the first major dApps to be built on a Lisk sidechain. This platform for data analysis using Blockchain technology allows participants to get in on the data market with their own data, whilst simultaneously preserving their privacy by design. The MADANA project has closed its pre-sale and is now preparing for its main sale
You can view an image of Christian's meeting in Brussels HERE.

LISK Sidechain Project's Founder Releases Three Exciting Pieces of Development Info.

You are all probably aware of GNY.io, the team bringing Machine Learning to Lisk via the sidechain LML (Lisk Machine Learning). Well, Chief R&D Officer and Co-founder of GNY, Richard Jarritt, in conversation with the projects followers on the GNY telegram dropped three exciting pieces of info over the the last few days.

1. Low fees.
The development team, which includes head of blockchain development, Leo Liang (known from the Asch decentralized application platform), have concluded their design where the Machine Learning data will be written into a contract. This is created with a low fee and then the Machine Learning reply (the prediction) is returned with another contract.

2. Timescale.
The team are aiming to get this Machine Learning and codebase integration completed by the month of March.

3. Unique.
You may may have seen blockchain before..... you may have seen Machine Learning before..... You may have even seen blockchain and Machine Learning combined before, however no competitors as yet have implemented or even attempted such a system where all the Machine Learning is done on chain, so data does not leave the security of the chain.
Plus the Machine Learning script does not grow exponentially. It is specifically coded to shed unneeded weight and prune off information, so that the data does not become too large for the chain. With each block, GNY's machine learning system is reading past data and the current data inputting into the block. It then makes a note of the pruned output, which is included in a contract for the next block.
The GNY universal Beta Api plug-in update is out now and testing is welcomed for commercial developers aiming to work with Machine learning and blockchain. You can visit Github to view the steps to run it HERE.

Lisk Play Prize Pool Swells and Another Lisk Game is On the Horizon.

A new community contest created by Lemii is receiving a great deal of support from the Liskers at large. Lisk Play is fun tool enabling simple contests to be played for a nominal amount of LSK. It's aim, besides bringing community together with fun, is to showcase a simple use case for transaction fields in explorer such as time, date, message, and so on with trivial value transactions. This is entirely a community initiative and has no affiliation to Lisk HQ, Lightcurve or the Lisk Foundation.
The first engagement of Lisk Play is a contest where the goal is to predict the opening price of Bitcoin as at 00:00 on the 1st of March 2019. Entering the competition costs 1 LSK and the closest prediction wins the sum of all LSK collected plus a top up fund kindly donated by stellardynamic of www.liskusa.io
The prize pool has now swelled to 120 LSK. You have to get moving though to enter as the deadline for all predictions is February 16th. You can check it out HERE.
In my opinion Lemii is to be commended for the work he has put into this project alongside his consultants Crosssy, Maul, Lisk.ftw, and Sexor (minions).

Now to the other Lisk game that is upcoming. My sources tell me that a Telegram contest is being worked on at present. I believe it will take the form of a treasure hunt type contest with hints given that will lead the lucky winnes to a cache of LSK. Sounds good? Of course it does. I will have more on the game in a short while.

LISK Videos around the World: Misss Bitcoin.

Dutch crypto Youtuber "Misss Bitcoin" released a new English language video titled "TA MONDAY | Technical Analysis on Bitcoin, Litecoin & Lisk". Misss Bitcoin AKA Maddie describes herself and her channel as follows..... "Seven years ago I became enthusiastic about Bitcoin, Cryptocurrencies and especially charting. I fell in love with the charts but besides that I’m still super excited about what the cryptocurrencies will bring us in the near future. I’m honored to be a part of the revolution and I would like to take you with me on this journey. Within this expanding crypto universe there is still so much to learn and I want to share this with everyone that is interested in (trading) cryptocurrencies".
She says she loves Lisk and it is one of her one of her favorite cryptos. Analysing the Binance chart in the video she says that although it not a very positive chart currently, she is still very positive for Lisk. She goes on to say that the next 10 to 14 days will be crucial to see if it LSK tests the bottom of its current chart.
I took the liberty of cropping her current video to allow you get straight to the Lisk TA. You can view it HERE. See what you think and don't forget to give the Youtube channel of the original poster a thumbs up if you find it of value.

That's it for the recap of the weeks highlights. I hope it brought you up to speed with all the weeks good news.
These highlight posts also go out daily on the….
LISK Highlights exclusive Telegram group
LISK Highlights Twitter
The highlights are also included in my weekly roundup on the LISK Highlights Medium account and the Bitcoin talk forum's LISK thread, so keep an eye out for them on these outlets also.

General info and list of exchanges for FansTime (FTI)

Ecosystem Individual IP Value System
If currency no longer represents the amount of work per unit of time, then what can measure the value of talent? FansTime believes that only fans can do it. IFS, the TOKEN generated on iFans Chain parent chain will become the only object to price an Individual IP so as to solve the pricing, financing, derivative development and assetization. Gradually, a decentralized multilateral market can be built then the value of Individual IP can be cherished fairly.Based on the new logic of communication, changing from domain addressing to content addressing, FansTime will promote the establishment of a truly worldwide content distribution system and copyright identification system together with other technology enterprises which focus on the fundamental technical advances in the Blockchain area. International Crowdfunding Platform for Individual IP
FansTime will also provide an international crowdfunding platform for IFS holders in addition to continuously connecting the terminal consumption scenarios to the Ecosystem. Compared to the traditional crowdfunding platforms, the new ones will operate independently without man-mad interferences, thanks to the Smart Contracts and Decentralized&Distributed Databases. In this case, "code equals to law" would be truly realized at least in the process of profits allocation between investors. Global Membership Rewards System of Individual IP
Based on distributed data storage, asymmetric encryption, peer-to-peer networking and other Blockchain related technologies, a global membership rewards system may be realized. The problems such as identity certification, unfair treatment, poor flexibility of databases will be solved. Application Scenarios Time Exchange
As the number of users increasing and the depth of user engagement enhacing, there will be a huge amount of demand for individual IPs. So FansTime will launch an equivalent object as Exclusive Token in order to simplify the process of issuing and auditing. Time, the equivalent object, provides a more flexible assetization channel which can attract much more Individual IPs with potentials.Time Exchange will work with Exclusive Token Exchange in parallel, thus enriching the value system. Fans Rights Mall
It is one of the terminal consumption applications in FansTime ecosystem. With the development of the community, terminal consumption scenarios will increase greatly. Commodities in Fans Rights Mall covers traditional copyright commodities, tickets for offline activities , weaker-copyright digital contents. According to different status of Individual IPs, the comodities can be priced by IFS, Exclusive Token or Time. Exclusive Token Exchange
With the Smart Contract of the FansTime parent Chain (iFans Chain), Individual IP can issue its own Exclusive Token, which is used to anchor its own IP value. Fans can obtain investment returns by holding and selling the Exclusive Token of Individual IP, directly participating in the process of Individual IP increasing. In this case, problems of pricing, transaction and assetization can be solved. FansTime will introduce high quality Individual IPs and more demanders of segment markets into the community as to expand the scope of Exclusive Token using. General info and list of exchanges for NUSD (NUSD)

A decentralised payment network and stablecoin v0.8 Samuel Brooks, Anton Jurisevic, Michael Spain, Kain Warwick Abstract There is currently no decentralised currency useful for everyday economic purposes. We propose a peer-to-peer payment network and price-stable token that does not rely on a central authority to maintain trust. Prior to Bitcoin, attempts to create digital currencies were centralised, making them vulnerable to censorship and seizure. Bitcoin’s consensus mechanism protected it from interference, but its fixed monetary policy induced extreme price volatility. Havven solves this by issuing tokens against a distributed collateral pool, which derives its value from fees levied on transactions. Growth in transaction volume thus increases the value of the collateral, allowing the token supply to expand to meet demand. The resulting system retains the best features of Bitcoin, while the introduction of price stability results in a superior form of money.
1.1 Payment Networks Payment networks are closed systems within which users can transfer value. Such systems include credit card networks, the SWIFT network, and PayPal. Proprietors of these networks possess absolute control over the value within the network, so any transaction conducted within them may be blocked or reversed at any time. Although this is ostensibly designed to protect users, it introduces systemic risk for all participants. If the network is compromised or its owners cease to behave benevolently, no party can trust that the value in their account is secure or accessible. In a traditional payment network like American Express, participants trust that the fees charged are sufficient to service the expenses incurred. However, were this trust to disappear, merchants would refuse to participate. Thus, the value of the unit of account within this network is derived solely from a single entity and the trust that participants have in that entity. As a result, the viability of any centralised payment network depends on complete trust in a central authority. Bitcoin solved these problems by ensuring that users have sole discretion over the money in their account by producing a trustless, permissionless payment network in which anyone could participate at will. Since users could enter and exit the system at any time without being exposed to the aforementioned risks, adoption was accelerated, and network effects were amplified. Programmable blockchains allow the logic of a payment network to be decentralised in a transparent way, enabling anyone to verify whether the network is solvent. This eliminates systemic risk and reduces the costs associated with centralised networks. 1.2 Cryptocurrency The technology of money has three key functions: to act as a unit of account, a medium of exchange and a store of value. As payment technology has advanced in recent years, money has become increasingly invisible and it is often lost upon its users that, like any technology, it can be improved. Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies represent an impressive technological advancement on existing forms of money because they deliver improved durability, portability, and divisibility. Further, they do so without requiring centralised control or sovereign enforcement from which to derive their value. Their fixed monetary policies have protected them from debasement and devaluation, allowing them to outperform other forms of money as a store of value. However, this has created the potential for short-run volatility as they lack mechanisms to dynamically adjust supply to changing demand. Bitcoin has thus tended to be a poor medium of exchange and an even worse unit of account. In order for a token to effectively act as money its purchasing power must remain stable against goods and services over the short to medium term. 1 1.3 Stablecoins Cryptocurrencies exhibit transaction immutability and censorship resistance, and in these ways are a better form of money; but their adoption has been hindered by the volatility inherent in their static monetary policies. Users cannot engage with such systems as a medium of exchange if the purchasing power fluctuates. Stability continues to be one of the most valuable yet elusive characteristics for the technology. Stablecoins are cryptocurrencies designed for price stability. They should ideally be as effective at making payments as fiat currencies like the US Dollar, while retaining their other desirable properties. A decentralised payment network built on a stablecoin would be able to capture all the benefits of a permissionless system, while also eliminating volatility. One approach to achieving price stability is to produce a token whose price targets the value of a fiat currency. Targeting stability against fiat currencies obviates the need to respond to macroeconomic conditions, as the token then benefits from the stabilisation efforts of large institutions acting in fiat markets. Furthermore, if a token’s price can be maintained at $1, then it can serve as an interface between fiat money and cryptocurrency. If such a stablecoin does not require an account in a traditional bank, then it can be effectively used for settlement and purchasing, without the centralisation and counterparty risk involved in fiat transactions. Thus it can be expected that by using stablecoins, exchanges that trade fiat for crypto will be able to rapidly reduce their transactional costs, reducing the barriers for new users to enter the market. 1.4 Distributed Collateral Today’s fiat money is not backed by an asset; its stability is derived from the authority of the governments which issue it. These governments require that tax obligations are denominated in the currencies they control, which are then used to fund active stabilisation efforts. However, with government control comes the risk of tyranny and debasement. Decentralised monetary systems don’t have these powers, and so they must use collateral to provide confidence in the value of their tokens. A decentralised system cannot use collateral assets that exist outside the blockchain, as interfacing with these assets necessitates centralisation with the aforementioned failure modes. Meanwhile, cryptoasset prices have been dominated by speculative volatility. So whether a system uses real-world assets or cryptoassets to back a stable token, if the value of the collateral is uncorrelated with the demand for the token, then the system is vulnerable to external price shocks. Large corrections can destroy the value of collateral without any change in the demand for the token issued against it. Clearly then, in designing an asset-backed stablecoin it is important to select the collateral asset carefully, but no existing asset perfectly serves the purpose. 2 1.5 Havven Havven is a decentralised payment network where users transact directly in a price-stable cryptocurrency. Those who use the stablecoin pay fees to those who collateralise the network, compensating them for the risks of providing collateral and stability. Collateral providers control the money supply, and fees are distributed in proportion with each individual’s stabilisation performance. Thus, Havven rewards suppliers of stability and charges those who demand it. Havven implements two linked tokens to achieve this structure: Nomin The stablecoin, whose supply floats. Its price as measured in fiat currency should be stable. This token is useful insofar as it provides a superior medium of exchange. Thus in addition to price stability, Havven should encourage adequate nomin liquidity. Havven This token provides the collateral for the system and has a static supply. Its market capitalisation reflects the system’s aggregate value. Ownership of havvens grants the right to issue a value of nomins proportional to the dollar value of havvens placed into escrow. If a user wishes to release their escrowed havvens, they must first present the system with the quantity of nomins previously issued1 . The havven token is a novel decentralised asset, whose intrinsic value is derived from the fees generated in the network it collateralises. This enables a form of representative money in which there is no requirement for a physical asset, thus removing the problems of trust and custodianship. Issuance of nomins requires a greater value of havvens to be escrowed in the system, providing confidence that nomins can be redeemed for their face value even if the price of havvens falls. The system incentivises the issuance and destruction of nomins in response to changes in demand, but ultimately the intrinsic value of the havvens will reflect the required nomin supply. Backing a stablecoin in this way provides full transparency over how many tokens have been issued against the available collateral. This provides a solid basis for confidence in the solvency of the payment network built upon it. Denominating the value of the nomin in an external fiat currency means that stability is relative only to that currency. Initially this currency will be the US dollar, and this is the target currency used throughout this paper, but in the future the system will support additional flavours of stablecoin that are denominated in other currencies. 1Following Bitcoin, the Havven system will appear in uppercase and singular; while the havven token will be lowercase and may be plural.
